Davit Arm on Reservoir Tower
Description:
BDR Stainless was awarded the Design, Engineering, Fabrication and Installation of a Fall Arrest Davit Arm on top of a elevated water reservoir.
Challenges:
The greatest challenge was side mounting the Davit Arm on a elevated water tower approx. 40m above ground. The design involved engineering a top mount plate to not only ensure the Davit Arm exceeds its load requirements for the Fall Arrest System but to also limiting the number of cranes on install to just one.
The fabrication time was met within 3 days and total install was achieved in just two days complete with grouting. This is now the fifth Davit Arm of similar design fabricated and install by the BDR Team.
